Oyo Police Debunk Claims of Release of Kidnapped Pupils and Teachers

 

The Oyo State Police Command has debunked reports claiming that pupils and teachers abducted from Ahoro Esiele and Yawota communities in Orire Local Government Area have been released by their captors.

In a statement issued on Friday, the command's spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade, described the reports as inaccurate and without any official confirmation. He emphasized that there has been no development indicating the victims have regained their freedom.

The police urged members of the public to disregard the reports and avoid spreading unverified information that could create confusion among residents and the families of the abducted persons.

Ayanlade noted that security agencies are continuing intensive rescue efforts, with personnel working around the clock to secure the safe release of the pupils and teachers. He added that all available operational and intelligence resources are being deployed to ensure the victims are rescued unharmed.
