NIDCOM and NATIP Collaborate to Rescue Cross River Trafficking Victim in Ivory Coast

The Chairman of the Cross River State Diaspora Commission (CRIDCOM), Hon. Otu Okor, has revealed that the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NATIP) are working together to combat the trafficking of Nigerian girls to Ivory Coast, focusing on a recent case involving Alice Odey, a victim from Cross River State.

In a recent update, NIDCOM released a statement strongly condemning the trafficking of Nigerian citizens and reaffirming its commitment to ensuring the safe return of Alice Odey. The commission assured that all necessary measures are being taken to secure her release and repatriation.

Meanwhile, NATIP has launched a full investigation into the incident and is actively pursuing the prosecution of those behind the trafficking network responsible for the ordeal.

Hon. Otu Okor also confirmed that the Cross River State Diaspora Commission is fully engaged in efforts to facilitate Alice Odey’s safe return and support her reintegration.
