Inflation admid biting and rising of Hunger in the country, some personnel of the Nigerian army, Navy and airforce on Tuesday night complained bitterly about the delay of salary by the Federal Government saying that their July salaries have not been paid up till date.
The soldier spoke man in Abuja reacted on the condition of anonymity said they and their colleagues are unhappy with the major general muhammadu buhari (retd) led government 2022 salaries especially because they have work extra ordinary since the kuje Prison Break and most recent Attack by the non-state actors across the country especially the capital city.
According to them, one of the soldier said it is becoming a norm, it was the same way the Federal Government delayed the payment of April salary this year was delayed and now they are repeating the same thing, we don't understand why president buhari and the military chief have refused to pay our salary as and when due.
Another soldier who's spoke out of anger says, we are tired but it is quite unfortunate that we can't complain we are being oppressed and cheated yet there is no avenue for us to share our grievances this is getting out of hands and I am fed up, I might just resign from the army if this is how the government will continue to treat us despite our effort and sacrifice we are putting our life on the stick for the sake of the country.
A third person a female personnel with the Nigerian Navy said I wonder how long the government wants to be energetic and go about our daily duties We Will Rock You Ricky all this about the delay of our salaries it is very very sad that only Nigerian soldiers suffer such humility humiliation from their government anywhere across the world, what does it take to pay people that are putting their life at risks to project a country with over 200 million people.
When our correspondent each out to the Nigerian army spokesperson Brigadier General Oyema Nwachukwu he noted some point that some officers have been paid today Wednesday August 3rd 2022 those Personnel that are yet to be traced should exercise patience as payment of salary is ongoing.
many personnel including myself have received I want to fiinally use this opportunity to appreciate those who have exercise patient because of this incident should please calm down.
